[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Grand Canyon National Park rim to rim hike has been on my adventure bucket list for some time. I wanted to experience more of the canyon than just looking over its rim. Rim to rim in a day is a beautiful, epic and challenging adventure, one that I hope to repeat with the knowledge of having suffered through it the first time.
For the record, the National Park Services does not recommend doing the hike in one day, but many people do. And some even run from Rim – to – Rim – to – Rim. No thanks! The direction we hiked, south to the north, has more elevation and we added miles by going to Ribbon Falls, but it was well worth the detour and additional effort. My uber-fit husband, Vido has done this hike several times and I finally got a spot to tag along. I trained for about four months hiking our local hills with Vido and my friend Staci who also got a spot on the trip. Vido and Staci are runners and could hike faster than me, but I made it across before sunset.
