[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Saddlebag Lake is located 4.7 miles east of the Tioga Pass Entrance of Yosemite. The lake sits at 10, 087 feet and hiking is fairly easy with little elevation gain. There are trials on either side of the lake, and we took the one on the right which was slightly longer, but not as rocky. At about 2.2 miles you are quickly reward with amazing views of Greenstone lake. We hiked over to Conness Lakes and enjoyed the waterfall and even jumped in one of the lakes on our way back. We did this trip in early September 2020 and yes, the water was cold, but the air warm during the day.
One of the best parts about this area is the water taxi. It makes the crossing 26-28 times a day. Even if you have fresh legs, support the tiny resort a take a ride. We hiked over and took the taxi back. Which of course gave us a goal to be back in time to catch our ride.
