One of my favorite new features with the Sony A7 IV is the focus map feature in video mode in both manual and auto focus.
It’s way more intuitive than than focus peaking that I used in the A7III. The colors tell you what is in the foreground and background and the absence of color means that part of the image is in focus. Genius!
Focus map does not work with all lens, like older manual focus, or lens where you need an adapter. It does work with my Tamron 28-75 and all of my Sony E and FE mount lens. It also only works in video mode.
Also set a custom button to turn on and off focus mapping, or add it to your function menu.
